The following poem is about diversity.
Diversity is everywhere and in the people I see.
I have learned to accept others even those that don't look like me.
People are unique in various ways with different needs and likes.
Every child has the potential to reach their greatest heights.
As a teacher, I will support diversity and teach children to accept all.
Life is a diverse place, where every child should stand tall.
Diversity is part of life and everyone deserves to be respected.
Therefore, anti-bias education should never be neglected.
Geneen,
ReplyDeleteI really like the poem you wrote. I think it says a lot about the importance of accepting others no matter how different they are from ourselves. I especially like the line you put in where you said every child should stand tall.

I think that it is great that you wrote a poem on diversity. Before teaching at the school that I am teaching at now, I did not have any experience teaching in diversity. Not only do people believe that it is a teachers job to teach the children, but they think it is our job to change their lives. We can only do so much. Great poem! I liked the part where you talked about anti-bias education should never be neglected.
ReplyDeleteGeneen,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your poem. I think it touches on alot of key points on what diversity means. As educators we must make sure that are classrooms are all inclusive and that we encourge our students to embrace their differences.
